On Friday 4th June 2021, some members of the Eko Skola committee attended the 15th Eko Skola Parliamentary session which was held online. Different schools from Malta and Gozo participated in this event. Our school was represented by Kirstie Maria Axisa, Katrina Gatt, Faith Mizzi, Shezny Schembri and Eliza Scicluna. The session was a follow-up of the Young People’s Summit which was organised in May where a declaration on various environmental issues was formed and presented to the Members of Parliament. In today’s event, students from different schools presented various aspects from the points they raised during the summit. Today’s session was attended by various Members of Parliament, including Hon. Dr. Bernard Grech, Leader of the Opposition, and Hon. Dr. Robert Abela, Prime Minister of Malta. All MPs insisted on the importance of giving a stronger voice to children and youths. At the end of the event, all the participants approved the motion which was presented to the Members of Parliament. Well done to all the participating Eko students who represented the school in today’s Parliamentary session.
