On the 8th of February 2022, the world celebrates Safer Internet Day. As part of the project FACTS4ALL: Schools tackling disinformation, some of the Grade 6 girls had the opportunity to do a lesson on fake news and online misinformation and disinformation. The girls discussed techniques how to spot fake news. They also spoke about the importance of using the internet safely and to watch out for any news that might be harmful. After the discussion, the girls had a quiz where they tried to identify which news is fake and which is not. They really did a good job as they analysed and criticized the images to come up with a final answer: fake or real. Well done to Ms. Rachel Sladden for organising this interesting session.
