On the 18th of March 2026, 5 students from Senior 1 and Senior 2 took part in the second edition of the Economics of Life Hackathon, coordinated by JA Malta in partnership with HSBC, as part of this year’s Global Money Week’s theme Smart Money Talks. During the event, the students were presented with different scenarios and they had to demonstrate whether these were possibly real or scams. After this exercise, the students had to design a poster about a podcast episode they would do in order to help other youngsters in their financial decisions. At the end of this task, judges came in to view their work and ask them about it. This was an opportunity for our students to consolidate their knowledge on financial literacy, apart from helping them in their creative and presentation skills. The girls were accompanied by Ms Cristina Spiteri, ICT teacher.
