On Tuesday 17th March 2026, our school celebrated the feast of our patron saint, St Joseph. Preparations for this celebration started weeks ago, with the Pastoral Care Team coordinating the activities which were held today. Also, different classes spoke about the feast of St Joseph during the Religion lessons and some classes also carried out craft related to the liturgical feast of St Joseph.
On 17th March, the activity started with a presentation on the role of St Joseph in Jesus’ life. Some students in Grade 6 then performed a representation of one of the visions that St Joseph had where an angel directed him to accept Mary as his wife. Two girls from Senior 2 explained the tradition of the relation of the flower of the lily with St Joseph. All the classes presented lilies in front of the statue of St Joseph.
The committee of Għaqda Mużikali San Ġużepp, Ħal Għaxaq, kindly brought the statue of St Joseph which is carried by children during their village feast to school. The statue was carried by some girls in Grade 4 and Grade 5. Whilst band marches were played, the statue passed in front of the enthusiastic girls who cheered on. To add to the festive spirit, the girls threw confetti and staff members waved flags as the statue passed in front of them. At the end of the activity, the girls were presented with some food which was prepared by the staff members.
A big shoutout to all the staff members who contributed to the success of the event. Thanks to the Pastoral Care Team who coordinated the activity, Ms Mary Grace Grech, the Music teacher, who prepared the hymns and band marches which were playednduring the activity, the staff members who helped out in decorating the yard and prepared the food. Finally, thanks to one of our parents who provided decorations and to Għaqda Mużikali San Ġużepp which helped us in adding to the festive cheer.
