Blessing of the Advent Wreath Celebration and Lighting Up of the First Advent Candle – December 2024

On Monday 2nd December 2024, the school held the blessing of the Advent wreath celebration. During the celebration, some Grade 4 girls explained the significance of advent, including the advent wreath. Fr Leonard Mintoff, the school chaplain, blessed the advent wreaths which the girls had prepared and also spoke about ways how we can prepare ourselves for the birth of Baby Jesus. During the celebration, the first candle of Advent was lit up. At the end of the activity, the school staff was presented with a candle, including a message. The school staff will receive a candle with a message for the duration of Advent. The activity was coordinated by the Pastoral Care Team. Thanks to Ms Mary Grace Grech, the Music teacher, for preparing hymns which were sung during the celebration.
