Farm Outing to Ta’ Ċiċivetta Farm – April 2025

On Tuesday 8th April 2025, the Grade 5 students enjoyed a memorable outing to Ta’ Ċiċivetta Farm, where they had a fantastic hands-on experience with farm life. This activity was organised as part of the Let’s Talk Farming programme in which our school is participating this scholastic year. They began the day by picking fresh chicken eggs and learning about the different types of chickens – those raised for laying eggs and those for meat. The students had the opportunity to feed the chickens and rabbits, and were taught how to hold rabbits gently and safely. They also fed sheep and explored how crops like lettuce and parsley are planted and cared for. To close off a fantastic day, the girls participated in a cooking activity, where the students used the eggs they had collected to make their very own omelettes, while enjoying a fresh strawberry milkshake which was prepared by the host from the farm’s own produce. It was a fun, educational day full of new discoveries and joyful moments!
