School Calendar First Term 2024-2025
On Thursday 28th November and 5th December 2024, both groups of Senior 2 Home Economics students had a practical session related to leftover food and sustainable living. The girls learned how to create a different dish using chicken leftover instead of throwing the food away. The girls used the leftover chicken as a filling to wholemeal pita pockets or wholemeal wrap along with cooked carrots, onions, peppers, or zucchini. They also prepared couscous, side salad and a fat-free Greek yogurt dressing with lemon and herbs. The dish was complemented with an orange and lemon drink which the girls made from scratch. The lesson was coordinated by Ms Rachel Caruana Sladden, the H.E. teacher, with the help of Ms Bernardette Mercieca. This activity complemented the work carried out by the school during the European Week for Waste Reduction where various activities focused on the theme of Food Waste.
