First Friday Mass – October 2024

On Friday 4th October 2024, the school community gathered in the school yard to celebrate mass together as a whole school at the beginning of the scholastic year. This occasion was chosen to celebrate the first Friday when all students return to school.
Mass was celebrated by Fr Leonard Mintoff, the school chaplain. Ms Mary Grace Grech, the Music teacher, led the choir formed by the Senior 2 students.
During the homily, Fr Leonard encouraged the girls to make the best of their learning opportunities. He stressed on the importance to respect others, including people in authority, whilst making reference to the work carried out by their educators, especially in the light of World Teachers’ Day, which is celebrated on 5th October. Fr Leonard commemorated the feast of St Francis Assisi which is celebrated on 4th October. He encouraged the girls to live out the true life values to live in harmony with each other, as lived out by St Francis himself.
During this activity, the school made use of a new sound system which was donated by last year’s Senior 2 class.
The Pastoral Care Team helped in the organisation of the mass.
