Our Grade 2 Classroom Turned into a Toy Shop – April 2025

On Wednesday 2nd April 2025, our Grade 2 students had a blast during a hands-on money activity where learning came to life! The classroom was transformed into a mini toy shop, and the girls brought in toys from home, each labelled with a price of 20c or less. Taking turns as buyers and shopkeepers, the students practised using coins — giving a 20c coin and calculating the correct change. Through this fun role-play, they got to apply the money skills we’ve been learning in class in a real-life context. It was a joyful, practical way to reinforce key concepts, build confidence, and of course, enjoy some playful learning!
This activity was organised as part of the Financial Literacy Programme in which our school is participating this scholastic year. It was coordinated by Ms Stephanie Saliba and Ms Cristina Spiteri, with the help of Ms Katia Camilleri and Ms Rebecca Cassar.
