During this scholastic year, several Senior 2 students participated in the Young Reporters for the Environment competition by writing articles about environmental issues, under the guidance of Ms Julie Tabone Valetta, the English teacher. On Thursday 30th May 2024, Marielle Formosa, Nicole Spiteri and Ilenia Fabri, from Senior 2, attended for the Young Reporters for the Environment Award Ceremony as their articles were commended. This year’s awards were held at the newly opened Wasteserv’s EcoHive, an interactive centre aimed at educating the public about circular economy to reduce the impacts of waste. After having a go at the games with the provided tablets, through the walk-through experience, and after placing first from all the groups of the day, the girls were presented with the school’s certificate during the award ceremony. The girls were accompanied on the outing by Ms Cristina Spiteri, link teacher of EkoSkola.
