Waste Reduction Week – November 2018

During this year’s Waste Reduction Week which was held between the 19th and 23rd November 2018, our school decided to generate more awareness through different lessons where the students were taught how to dispose safely of waste, especially when this is toxic, radioactive and dangerous.  Different lessons with different age groups targeted various other aspects of waste, where for example the lower classes created crafts and Christmas decorations with recycled materials; other classes in the upper forms created some home-made products through science experiments to reduce the need to buy certain products and so avoid waste.  As a whole school approach on the other hand, there was the collection of clothes and other textile materials to be donated to the Malta Textile Recycling; the latter donates these clothes to the people in need or if the clothes are in a shabby state, they recycle the materials to produce something else.
