On Thursday 11th May 2023, the school welcomed US Democratic Senator Lisa Wellman where she observed and participated in an e-sport session with the senior students. The session was led by Mr Kevin Spiteri, of Level Academy. Senator Wellman also visited the Grade 4 and Grade 5 classes while the students had a lesson using the educational tablets provided under the one-tablet- per-child initiative. This important initiative was introduced by the former Minister of Education Evarist Bartolo in 2016.
Senator Wellman also had the opportunity to meet the Pre-Grade class and teachers. She was accompanied by her team and Mr Klaus Conrad, director of Headstart Technology Ltd who facilitated the visit. Former Minister of Education and Employment, Evarist Bartolo, was also present for the school visit.
At the end of the visit, the school council members presented Senator Wellman with a memento. Senator Wellman congratulated the girls for their hard work in the council and congratulated the school for the initiatives it is taking in various fields amongst which those in technology, mental wellbeing and mindfulness.
Senator Wellmann was in Malta on an official visit to attend the Transform-ED symposium.
