On Friday 27th March 2026, the educators attended professional development sessions. Teachers had an interesting presentation on stress management which was delivered by Ms Lara Abela, a psychotherapist within the Counselling and Social Work Unit at Caritas Malta. The Learning Support Educators attended a session on equi-assisted therapy which was delivered by Carlos Hernandez, clinical psychology practitioner and EAS specialist. After a short presentation, the participants had a practical session in the school garden where Mr Hernandez showed them how calm and meaningful interactions with Mixa, the school pony, may be used to improve learning in various aspects like communication and social skills and improves wellbeing and confidence of students.
