Solar Paneling System installed at Mater Boni-Consilii St Joseph School Paola-2015

A new solar paneling system, consisting of 50 solar panels, was recently installed at Mater Boni Consilii St Joseph School Paola. The work on this project was carried out during the past weeks and it was inaugurated by Sister Cecilia Schembri, the Sister Provincial of the Order of the Sisters of St Joseph of the Apparition, during one of her recent school visits. The inauguration was done in the presence of Sister Josephine Azzopardi, Provincial Bursar, Mr Kenneth Vella, headmaster, members of staff and students.

Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, Mr Vella reminded those present that this project was one that he had worked on for a number of months. He thanked the community of the Sisters of St Joseph for their generosity and also the parents who also helped in part in the realization of this project through their yearly contributions. Special thanks went also to Mr Austin Walker, the chairman of the Board of Governors who was regularly consulted during the finalization of this project and to Mr Francis Cassar and Engineer Matthew Spiteri who both supervised the installation of these panels.

“This project will not only help our school in its energy saving policy but is also in line with the institution’s Eko Skola policy. It should be reminded that recently Mater Boni Consilii School was awarded the green flag for the fifth cycle and this is also an achievement which as a school community we should all be proud of,” commented Mr Vella.

Whilst congratulating the school for taking such an initiative, Sister Cecilia Schembri confirmed that the Sisters’ community is always ready to support such initiatives. “Such projects also confirm that as St Joseph schools we always look forward and we strive to offer quality education to our students,” concluded Sister Cecilia Schembri.
