Malta Girl Guides at Mater Boni Consilii St Joseph School Paola – February 2019

Recently, the school yard at Mater Boni Consilii St Joseph School Paola was transformed into one big time machine as the Malta Girl Guides celebrated World Thinking Day 2019.
Despite the cold and rainy weather, Guides and Rangers from all over Malta gathered at St Joseph Paola to celebrate Thinking Day by participating in a number of activities that explored the theme of leadership and the 110th anniversary of Girl Guiding.

This year’s World Thinking Day was designed to create a fun space where Girl Guides could use leadership mindsets without having to learn about them. The game entitled Leadership: 110 years of adventure took the Guides and Rangers on a journey through time by combining experiences of the past with the chances and choices of our present and future. This World Thinking Day 2019 game invited the young members to time-travellers whilst setting out on an exciting adventure as they practised leadership together.

Thinking Day happens every 22nd February, the birthday of Lord Robert Baden Powell and his wife Olave, the founders of the Girl guiding and Scouting movements, who coincidentally shared their birthday. It is customary that every year on the 22nd of February, Girl Guides and Girl Scouts around the world think of member sisters in the movement around the world.

The Malta Girl Guides would like to thank St Joseph School Paola for hosting this lovely event.
