On Thursday 27 th October 2016 His Excellency Archbishop Emeritus Mons. Paul Cremona presided the inauguration of the School Tent and Yard Refurbishment Project at Mater Boni Consilii St.  Joseph School Paola.

In his opening speech Dr.  Kenneth Vella headmaster explained how the installation of such a pergola enabled the students to make use of the yard especially in inclement weather as well as in summer.  The pergola is considered to be innovative for Malta because of its size and the facility of being operated remotely. The pergola has also the facility of artificial lighting making it possible to turn the yard in a multi – purpose space.

This was an ambitious project another one in a series of projects from which the students have benefited in the last five years.  Thus making the school environment more conducive to learning complementing a number of projects like the installation of interactive whiteboards, 55 solar panels and air conditioners in part of the school. These projects were possible thanks to the Sisters of St. Joseph and to the donations of the parents.

Present for this ceremony were Dr.  Roseanne Cuschieri Director for Educational services within the Secretariat for Church Schools, the Provincial Sr.  Cecila Schembri, members from the board of Governors, distinguished guests, the Sisters of the Community of St. Joseph Paola, staff, students and their families.
