The Grade 3 class had the opportunity to visit the Malta Book Festival this morning, where they enjoyed a performance by Terramaxka featuring some leading characters from Maltese books. Some pupils were lucky to be selected to go on stage and help out in a song. All the girls were given a 5 Euro book voucher which they used at the book fair to practise how to choose an age-appropriate book, as well as how to pay with money/voucher and get change when required. While there, they were encouraged to choose books in both Maltese and English and they also visited a religious book shop to get some lovely bookmarks with religious verses. Finally, they visited the Malta Public Library Stand and the National Literacy Agency stand, to encourage them to use such services in their free time. The children were very excited with the purchases they made and couldn’t wait to start reading their books. The outing was coordinated by Ms Veronique Sultana with the help of Ms Katia Camilleri and Ms Jocelyn Sammut Mizzi.
