Geography Lesson – Senior 1- April 2019

On Tuesday 30th April, during a Geography lesson, Senior 1 student conducted an experiment about the rock cycle. From home they brought broken crayons and shredded them with a grater. At this point sediments were formed. Then, they moved on to form sedimentary rocks by pressing the shredded crayons together. Afterwards, they created the metamorphic rocks by pressing and using some heat. Finally, students created igneous rock by melting the shredded crayons and then waiting for the ‘rock’ to cool down. This was a hands-on lesson where students participated and learned about the rock cycle.
