On Wednesday 21st October 2015 as part of the annual school calendar of events the staff, students and their families celebrated Animal Awareness Day at St. Joseph Mater Boni Consilii School Paola.
The activity started off with the blessing of the various pets that parents and relatives kindly brought to school. Fr. Mario Attard OFM CAP was the celebrant of this blessing. He shared some thoughts about the importance of animals in our lives and how much we should appreciate these creatures. He also told the students what an important role pets have in helping a family bond better by sharing and caring for animals.
The representatives from Animal Protectors Malta gave some insightful information regarding the care of baby kittens and cats during their presentation. The students then donated dry food to this organization which looks after stray and abandoned cats and kittens.
One of the aims behind this activity was to create awareness amongst our students and their families to act more responsibly when acquiring and caring for their pets
