World Health Mental Day Celebration at School

10th October 2023 marks an important date in the school calendar as the school community celebrates World Health Mental Day. To commemorate this special day, a special assembly was held at school. The assembly was led by Ms Elaine Azzopardi, an educator and Mindfulness expert, together with her students who attend mindfulness sessions every week after school.

During this assembly the students reminded the school community about the importance of having good mental health and well-being, not just today, but all year round. Mental health is about being aware of our thoughts and how we are feeling as these will affect the choices we make and how we are able to cope with the stresses of life. The students shared 5 ways of how we can keep our mental health in check which include eating well, sleeping well, connecting with nature, exercising and listening to music. Ms Elaine reminded everyone that there are other ways and we can all find our own unique ways to adopt in our daily lives to help keep good mental health.

The students finished off their presentation with a positive message:

“Think happy thoughts, do happy things for what you think you become.”

Well done, Ms Elaine and all the participating students for the motivating message!
