Learning about the Fibonacci Sequence in Senior 1 – May 2024

On Monday 6th May 2024, the Senior 1 class learned about the Fibonacci sequence and how it is formed. The girls saw the relation of the sequence to what we call the Fibonacci spiral or the Golden Spiral. To conclude, the class discussed how this is seen in nature, and the girls watched a video of a Humpback whale which created a Fibonacci spiral of bubbles to capture fish in the Antarctica. The lesson was coordinated by Ms Marica Grieco Falanga, Maths teacher, with the support of Ms Bernardette Mercieca.
