Home Economics practical with Senior 1 – March 2025

On the 12th and 26th March, the Senior 1 girls took part in a Home Economics practical. The girls had to prepare a fruit dessert and a healthy drink. They prepared a fruit parfait with fresh and dried fruits, wholemeal cereals, oats, muesli, and yogurt. The girls also practised their cutting skills by cutting colourful fruit that they chose. They also used strawberries, a fruit which is in season, to make use of seasonal fruit highlighting the importance of sustainability. They discussed the benefits of eating fruit. As a drink, they prepared a milk and honey drink. The girls learned more about the importance of consuming milk at their age as it contains all the nutrients, mostly calcium. The session was led by Ms Rachel Sladden, the Home Economics teacher.
