Arkafort Site Visit – May 2024

On Wednesday 15th May 2024, the Senior 2 students had the opportunity to visit Arkafort, a leading IT company. The event commenced with insightful talks from various employees who shared their career journeys and offered valuable advice on excelling in the IT sector. The students gained valuable insights into the industry and learned about the different paths one can take to succeed in this dynamic field. Following the talks, the students engaged in a stimulating computer science quiz to assess their knowledge and put their skills to the test.

 

During the visit, the students were taken on a guided tour of the offices, where they had the opportunity to see the inner workings of the company and gain a better understanding of the various departments and roles within the organization. The students also had the chance to explore the employee recreational area. They played billiards and ping-pong enthusiastically, showcasing their competitive spirit and enjoying a well-deserved break from the academic setting. This interactive experience allowed the students to observe the importance of work-life balance and the benefits of having a fun and engaging work environment. Throughout the visit, the students demonstrated keen interest and actively participated in all activities, posing relevant questions and showcasing their curiosity and eagerness to learn more about the IT sector.

This educational outing was organised and coordinated by Ms Cristina Spiteri, the IT teacher. The girls were accompanied on this outing by Ms Madeleine Agius Carbonaro and Ms Roberta Gatt.
