The prayer group is an after school activity for the girls who are in Grade 6, Senior I and II. They are divided into two groups depending on the number of girls who wish to attend. This year, the girls of Grade 6 and Senior I are together, while Senior II are on their own. We meet every other week on a Friday for an hour and a half at the convent.
The aim of this group is to help the girls to get to know Christ better and to instill in them the right values in order to live a more authentic Christian life.
During our meetings a theme is chosen as a means for reflection. While at other times true stories are read out which give importnat messages about good values that other persons tried to live. There is always a time for discussion during which the girls can air their opinions. We end by a time of prayer which consists of the Word of God, a time for sharing any reflection or prayer and a hymn or two.
We always finish our meeting with about twenty minutes of games in the school yard. Occasionally, weather permitting, we go on an outing.
Any girls who are interested are invited to join our group.
