On Friday 21st November 2025, our Grade 6 students attended the closing ceremony of the Connecting Classrooms Project. During this 2-year project, our girls had the opportunity to link through several video calls with other students from the Kidane Mehret School in Ethiopia. During the first year, the content was mainly focused on the exploration of the different cultures, including national landmarks and monuments, traditional food, folklore, stories and legends; during the second year, the content shifted more towards Integrity and Corruption. In the Library/ICT lessons, the students learnt what these keywords mean, they were given different scenarios mostly related to the environment and the school, where they differentiated what integrity and corruption are, and then they had the chance to share their views with the African students in the video call. The closing event, ‘Planting Trees of Integrity and Hope’ symbolised the values of ethics, integrity and anti-corruption explored together to bridge two countries into meaningful global conversation about fairness, transparency and active citizenship.
